Volunteering at
Neot-Semadar
When was the last time you gave yourself a gift?
Come be a part of the silence of the desert
We at Neot Semadar offer you to go on a journey with us. A journey of discovery,
a journey of devotion, a journey of meaning, a journey of sharing, a journey of familiarity,
a journey of integration into a slightly different community life.
So take a break from the endless race of life and join us, straight to the silence of the desert.
While volunteering in Neot Semadar you join a learning community that focuses on cooperation and creativity in daily life. Along the working days and within them, we explore what it means to live together as co-learners, observing ourselves in everyday activities and relationships.
This unique experience invites you to stop, to breath, to adapt, to join and observe yourself.
Our interest in relationships extends to the environment through organic farming, desert architecture, water recycling, Art work and more. You will have the chance to join us in some of these activities.
In our community there are 150 members (families and singles), and about 60 volunteers of ages 21-35, most of them Israelis. Most of the time there is also a group of 5-10 international volunteers, that explore a fresh perspective on life here together with us.
Few things you should notice:
The minimum time for volunteering is 2 months.
You’ll find yourself working wherever is needed according to the necessity.
Neot-Semadar is a remote, quiet place in the desert. There is no city near by, no pub, no entertainment. (no television…)
Usage of drugs and alcohol are forbidden.
Staying at Neot-Semadar invites you to meet yourself and your surroundings.
